THE MANDALA

As we can't be together in person, Confluence Concerts Artistic Associate Suba Sankaran, the curator of The Mandala, has created a special digital performance, with collaborators Larry Beckwith, Dyan Bell, Ed Hanley, Andrew Downing, Bijan Sepanji, and Shaniz Janmohamed.

Our Confluence Concerts 2019–2020 Season Finale concert was to have been on Saturday, May 9.

AN EVENING WITH MARION NEWMAN

The celebrated Kwagiulth and Stó:lo First Nations, English, Irish and Scottish mezzo-soprano curates a special program asking the question, “What is classical Indigenous music?”

With mezzo-soprano Marion Newman, mezzo-soprano Rebecca Cuddy, baritone Evan Korbut, pianist Gordon Gerrard and composer Ian Cusson.

A dynamic reading of Madeleine Thien’s gripping short story Bullet Train, partnered with the world premiere of Witch on Thin Ice, inspired by the life and work of Yoko Ono, by Alice Ping Yee Ho.

Featuring superstar percussionist Beverley Johnston, actor Courtney Ch’ng Lancaster and pianist Gregory Oh.
